Day our here in Yap and it's still as great as day one. Had another dive trip yesterday but it kind of fizzled as the current was strong and surge had us just trying to cling to life never mind the silly fish laughing at us. So with half of the dive boat sick and gasping for air we returned to the dock and decided to do a night dive and see the Maderin fish mate. Well that was a successful dive as we peered in on what was going on in the reef that night and let me say it was more action then I saw back at the Water Front Inn ,lol.
So we chose to sleep in as we met two families that live here on the Island and spend all night drinking beer and shooting the bull till midnight. Got up had some breakfast and zoom on down to the local plane crash site. Don't know what it is with Yap and downed planes but we saw two old WWII Zero's they said they were shot up while they were sitting there as the landing gear was still down. Then we went in search of the Continental Airlines jet and found it with another wreck. Not much left of either but got some good pictures anyway. Now we are told there is a down plane at the end of the new runway so we will look for it in the coming days.
Next we took a island tour to a local Village where we were made very welcome and saw native foods, dance and handiwork that we could buy with no pressure the only pressue was the girls serving the food as they wanted you to take it all so they could go back and play. Now by this time we are really getting used to the bare breasted women they are here and there all over the place, ie the video store, supermarket and at Valentines night dinner so seeing it here was no great surprise. I tried to get Joy to do it but miss shy decided not for her. In some of the pictures you will see what looks like a big stone wheel and that is the stone money these "Wheels" were traded as money way back when and were brought from other islands by boat so when you see a big one you wonder what the heck brought that one here.
Sunday we will again be setting out to the dive spots to see the Manta Rays looking for the 14 foot wing span gals. Everyday the sunrise here is great and comes streaming into our room so we don't sleep in too late. Food has been pretty good here as it leans towards Chinese/Japenese with local flavors mixed in. My only complaint would be that this website uploads slow from here so no more videos till our next stop. We have also planned a trolling fishing trip so we hope to get some local fish and our hotel will grill it up for us. Well that is all that is new so til next time Kahfa
